The new week awaits us with numerous fantastic events with our premiertone artists.

Concerts and events

The Doric String Quartet has an entire tour ahead of it: three concerts are scheduled from Friday to Sunday, with the ensemble featuring works by Beethoven, Britten and Mendelssohn. You can find the four musicians on stage in Tienhoven, Ede and Tiel. Already on Monday, the percussion duo DoubleBeats plays Shostakovich's Symphony No. 15 as part of the Spectrum Concerts Berlin in the Berlin Philharmonic. Also participating is cellist Jens Peter Maintz.

Claudio Bohórquez will give several concerts this week with the Scharoun Ensemble. The cellist can be seen in Thomasville, Jacksonville, Winter Park, Palm Beach and Sanibel Island. Esther Saladin and the Sonemus Quartet will be giving a concert entitled "Assonance - Resonance" in Sarajevo on Zhursday. The ensemble of the KammerMusikKöln, which also includes Oren Shevlin, gives a concert in Cologne on Sunday. The program "You are so dear to me" includes works by Brahms as well as by Robert and Clara Schumann. Meike Bertram will be playing on Tuesday with the Nomos Quartet in the Kleiner Sendesaal of the NDR. The event takes place within the framework of Musik 21 Niedersachsen. Violinist Iason Keramidis will be performing with the Lithuania Symphony Orchestra in Witten on March 16. At the end of the week, Sophia Jaffé will give a concert with the Philharmonie Rostock under Marcus Bosch. The violinist is going to interpret Prokofiev's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63. For Nils Mönkemeyer, the week begins with a concert with William Youn in the Wigmore Hall London on Monday. On March 14, the celebrated violist will perform together with the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna under Andrey Boreyk in the Austrian capital. On Saturday there will be a concert in Elmau. Meanwhile, Tomoko Akasaka is still on Israel tour this week as part of the Israeli Chamber Project.

Harpist Jasmin-Isabel Kühne is giving a concert in Cologne on Sunday as part of the duo Breidenstein / Kühne. Flutist Aldo Baerten will be a guest of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra on March 16. Under the direction of Richard Egarr, Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 is interpreted there. One day later Baerten will be at the International Flute Seminar Bruges in Braine-l'Alleud. The ARIS Quartet and Thorsten Johanns will be performing on March 13 at the Kurfürstliches Palais Trier. The clarinetist also performs a duo concert with Moritz Eggert on the piano in the Hall of Mirrors at Schloss Morsbroich on Sunday.

Nicholas Rimmer is also very busy this week. The pianist will give a song recital on Wednesday in Rödermark with the baritone Georg Gädker. Under the title "Wandering through fields and woods", songs by Schubert, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Vaughan-Williams and Loewe are interpreted. One day later, together with the violinist Hwa-Won Rimmer, he plays Bibers Rosenkranz Sonatas in a concert cycle with images named "Mysteries" in the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. From March 15 to 17, he gives three concerts with the Trio Gaspard in Schwäbisch Hall, Weil der Stadt and Manchester. Also on Sunday, Peter Donohoe plays at the Spring Concert with the Henley Symphony Orchestra in Reading. On the same day, the Rivinius Piano Quartet with Paul Rivinius will give a recital at the Musikalische Akademie Stuttgart. The Sunday concert is titled "Bruderherz".

On Friday, Hossein Pishkar will conduct a philharmonic concert with the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz at the Theater im Pfalzbau in Ludwigshafen. Here he conducts works by Mendelssohn, Schumann and Schubert. Daniel Raiskin will be giving two concerts on March 15 and 16 in Winnipeg with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir. Verdi's "Messa da Requiem" will be performed. The Berlin Baroque Soloists give a concert on Sunday under the direction of Reinhard Goebel. On the program: works by Bach and Telemann. On March 16, Daniel Finkernagel and Alexander Lück will host the live stream of Bach's "Johannes Passion", directed by Peter Sellars, in the Digital Concert Hall of the Berliner Philharmoniker. Michael Hasel will also be performing there.

Opera friends can look forward to a performance of the Strauss opera "Ariadne auf Naxos" at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg on sunday. Ilia Papandreou will perform in the role of Primadonna / Ariadne.


There are also some application phases that end this week. The registration deadline for the International Piano Competition Prize "Jaén" ends on Wednesday. Until Friday, musicians can apply for the Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition and the International Singing Competition "New Voices".
