Spring is coming and it is without a doubt accompanied by the lust for long concert nights and festivals with mild temperatures. Once again, we did not miss the opportunity to put together an overview of this week’s most interesting concerts and events with the premiertone artists.
The popular tenor Gerhard Siegel will be performing in Richard Wagner's "Rheingold" this week at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Claudio Bohórquez and the Scharoun Ensemble are also touring the USA this week. Concert stops are planned in New York, New Jersey, Washington and Newport News. The cellist László Fenyő will be guesting for the Mozart Day at the Academy of Music in Budapest this sunday. From the 10th of March Esther Saladin and the Sonemus Trio will give workshops at the Music Academy Sarajevo. Violist Tomoko Akasaka will tour Israel from March 5 on as part of the Israeli Chamber Project. Barbara Buntrock will give a concert with the Wupper Trio at the Theater Remscheid on Wednesday. The program includes works by Beethoven, Massenet, Bruch and Piazzolla. In Boston, Leonard Fu will be performing at the graduation concert at the New England Conservatory on March 7. In the Konzerthaus Berlin the event "Stravinsky: animated" lures on Sunday. Here Stravinsky's "Histoire du soldat" is performed for speakers and seven instruments. Diana Tishchenko is one of the participating musicians. The Doric String Quartet and the Cambridge Camerata Musica invite you to a concert on Friday with works by Haydn, Britten and Schubert.
Harpist Jasmin-Isabel Kühne is also on tour this week "With boxes and suitcases - the journey of the composers" is the title of the program of the duo Breidenstein & Kühne, with which the two musicians are guesting in Bad Neuenahr and in Bonn. Thorsten Johanns gives a solo concert on Wednesday with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Bucharest. Here he plays Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. On Saturday, the clarinetist will perform together with the Aris Quartet at the opening concert of the Klosterkonzerte in Seligenstadt. In St. Moritz one is looking forward to a piano duo concert with Edgar Wiersocki and Kateryna Titova on the 6th of March. The pianist Joseph-Maurice Weder will give a concert with the baritone Eugen Hilti in Triesen (Liechtenstein) on March 8. Together they will perform Schubert's "Winterreise".
On Thursday Reinhard Goebel conducts a concert with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra and Mirijam Contzen as soloist. The concert is part of the cycle "Wiener Klassik". On Friday Daniel Raiskin will perform with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. Music by Ravel, Chausson, Poulenc and Offenbach will be brought to the stage of the Grand Hall of the Kolarac Foundation. The premiere of Alphergis' "Avis de Tempete" in the Staatstheater Mainz with Hermann Bäumer at the conductor's desk will take place on March 9.
