The new week promises to be a particularly exciting one with countless concerts and masterclasses of the premiertone artists. We are looking forward to the following events:
The week begins with the Berlin premiere of Puccini's "EDGAR" at the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt on the 4th of February, conducted by Felix Krieger. Daniel Raiskin conducts a concert of the Russian National Youth Orchestra in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall Moscow this week. The event will take place on the 7th of February.
On February 6 and 9, the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg again shows Strauss' opera "Ariadne auf Naxos". In the lead role: Ilia Papandreou. Also on February 6, Sunae Im will be on stage as Christine Daaé in the musical "Le Fantome de l'Opera" by Leroux at Chung mi Art Hall Seoul. On Friday, the singer will perform at the PyungChang Olympic 1st Anniversary 2019 Peace Concert at the Gangneung Art Center.
The Kuss Quartet is on concert tour in Sweden from February 7 to 9. The ensemble can be seen on stage in Mellerud, Boras and Lidköping. The quartet Passo Avanti will perform on Sunday at the International Schlosskonzert in Tettnang.
Claudio Bohórquez will perform as a soloist at the Konzerttage Winnenden this week. On Monday there will be a "Wort & Ton Extra" with works by Schubert, followed by two chamber music concerts and an orchestra concert with the soloists of the concert days. Joanna Sachryn gives a concert on February 7 with the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Oradea, Romania. From Saturday on, the cellist will be a guest at the Shanghai Cello Festival. Also on the 9th of February, one can look forward to a duo-concert with Nils Mönkemeyer (viola) and William Youn (piano) in Eppan.
From February 4 to 9 a masterclass by Aldo Baerten will take place in Szczawno, Poland. On Tuesday, the sought-after flutist also gives a recital there. Michael Hasel and the Philharmonic Wind Quintet are on US tour from February 5 on. Ramón Ortega Quero is giving a concert on Monday with the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. Here he plays Williams' Concerto for Oboe and Strings in A Minor. On February 7, another concert with the renown oboist will take place, this time with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra in Kristiansand. The program includes Strauss's oboe concerto. On February 10, Ramón Ortega Quero will perform a joint recital with Ayano Shimada at the piano in Toppan Hall Tokyo.
Pianist Peter Donohoe will play Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 27 in B flat major, K. 595, with the Orchestra of the Swan in Hereford on February 8. Nicholas Rimmer and the CasalQuartett are giving a joint concert in Lucerne on 9th of February. For this occasion, they are going to perform Bartok's Piano Quintet.
