Concerts and events with the premiertone artists
Although we are approaching Christmas quite fast, there are only a few Christmas concerts in our preview this week! But of course, if you are feeling like listening to some contemplative music, there are some occasions. Jasmin-Isabel Kühne plays in two Christmas concerts in Reislingen/Wolfsburg (December 12th) and Hanover (December 17th), and Michael Hasel takes part in the Friedberger Advent with the Winds of the Berliner Philharmoniker on December 17th. He also performs in a lunch concert in Berlin with his Piano Duo Sommer-Hasel on December 12th.
In addition to his concerts as a cellist, Claudio Bohórquez is the artistic director of the concert series "Schlosskonzerte" in Winnenden. Of course, he also appears in Winnenden himself and gives a duo concert with Antoine Tamestit on December 15th. There are also chamber music concerts in Cologne (December 17th) and Bonn (December 18th): Nicholas Rimmer and Oren Shevlin perform together in the concert series KammerMusikKöln and interpret works by Kreisler, Browne, Butterworth, Debussy and others. In Varel (Friesland), Thorsten Johanns appears with the Deutsche Bläsersolisten on December 14th.
On the invitation of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, the percussion duo DoubleBeats gives a concert at the UdK Berlin on December 17th. Hardy Rittner takes part in the series "Ein Leben für die Bühne" ("Life on the stage") on December 12th. During these events for pupils, musicians talk about their everyday life and also play music, of course. On December 11th, Daniel Finkernagel presents WDR 3 Mosaik again - you can listen to the live stream here.
The Kuss Quartet performs in two concerts this week: The ensemble appears in Amsterdam (December 14th) and Hanover (December 16th), each time together with Mojca Erdmann and with works by Beethoven, Kurtág and Reimann on their program. Passo Avanti also stands on the stage twice during the next days: in Winsen (Aller) on December 16th and in Hamm on December 17th.
Like last week in Augsburg, Reinhard Goebel conducts works by the Bach sons in Ingolstadt on December 11th. Clemens Schuldt leads two concerts with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in Manchester (December 14th) and Hanley (December 15th), and Daniel Raiskin visits the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra in Tallinn for a concert on December 15th.
Marianna Shirinyan is on a concert tour with the Het Gelders Orchestra: She interprets Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor in Arnhem (December 13th), Apeldoorn (December 15th), Utrecht (December 16th) and Dusseldorf (December 17th). Sunhae Im sings in a performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 8 with the Tonkünstler-Orchester in Vienna on December 17th, and Sophia Jaffé plays the solo part of Mozart's Violin Concerto in A major KV 219 in Prague on December 16th.
The Novus String Quartet flies around the globe during the next days: The ensemble performs quartets by Haydn, Dvorak, Mendelssohn and Schubert in Suwon (December 12th), Seoul (December 14th) and London (December 17th). László Fassang also has to cross some countries between his concerts this week: He appears in Calais on December 15th and in Tiszakécske (Hungary) on December 17th.
This week, we would like to point out a competition for horn players: You can apply for the Schuncke HORN Wettbewerb until December 31st!
