The new week starts with a large number of exciting music events on a national and international level. Joseph-Maurice Weder will continue his successful tour in South America with four more concerts: on April 17 and 18, he will perform as a soloist in Brasília and will be guesting in Buenos Aires on April 21 and 22. In his luggage he has pieces by Brahms, Beethoven, Trümpy, Janacek and Moser. The new spring week begins with an exciting concert in the historic Gemeindesaal Bonn: On April 9, cellist Oren Shevlin will perform at the concert „Aus dem Schatten heraus: Komponistinnen“. As part of an ensemble of flute, oboe, violin, violoncello and piano, he interprets works by female composers such as Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Rebecca Clarke, Lili Boulanger and others. Once again, we begin our preview with a "new face": Korbinian Altenberger gives a recital in Seefeld on April 8th. Together with Jiayi Shi, he interprets the Beethoven sonatas op. 12/1 (D major), op. 23 (A minor), op. 30/2 (C minor) and op. 30/3 (G minor). We begin this week with a premiere: On March 23rd, Hermann Bäumer conducts Jón Leif's "Edda II - The lives of the gods" in Reykjavik. With the St Matthew Passion, Reinhard Goebel interprets a somewhat more traditional repertoire this week: He conducts the Noord Nederlands Orkest on March 22nd (Leeuwarden), 23rd (Dokkum) and 24th (Harlingen).
